Mineral Leasing

The Office of State Lands and Investments (OSLI) is responsible for the leasing and maintenance of all State Trust Land assets. In addition to managing 3.4 million acres of surface land estate, OSLI manages 3.9 million acres of sub-surface land estate.  Rentals and royalties derived from the sub-surface estate are deposited for the benefit of the State's trust beneficiaries. Minerals available for lease from the sub-surface estate include: bentonite, coal, fossils, various precious metals and stones, oil and gas, trona, uranium, zeolite, and other minerals.
