Land and Lease Map Viewer

Follow the steps below to view State Land Public Access data in the Land and Lease Map Viewer.

1. Open the Land and Lease Map Viewer and agree to the terms and conditions by clicking the checkbox and clicking OK.

2. Click on the Layers button on the toolbar then click on the State Land Public Access Layers button in the drop down.

3. The State Land Public Access Layers list will open.  This list shows all layers related to State Land Public Access.  These layers are turned off by default.

4. Check the boxes to the left of the layer name to turn the layers on.  State Land Public Access, Restrictions & Closures, and Do Not Hunt - Cropland are now displayed on the map.

5. To find more information about a particular state land parcel or restriction/closure, zoom in and click to select a parcel or restriction/closure.  A pop-up will open with more information regarding your selection.

There are two ways to search the new plat books - using the Plat Book Searches Tool and using the Attribute Table.  

Using the Plat Book Searches Tool:

1.  Open the Land and Lease Map Viewer and agree to the terms and conditions by clicking the checkbox and clicking OK.

2. Click on the Plat Book Searches button on the toolbar to open the search window.

3. Click to select a search to perform.

4. Type the search criteria in the search boxes and press enter or click on Apply.

Search criteria format:

Sections: 1-36

Townships: 12N-58N (6th P.M.)

1-9 North or South (WRM)

Ranges: 60W-121W (6th P.M.)

1-6 East or West (WRM)

*If no results are displayed when searching by section township and range, the land may have been resurveyed.  Try searching again and leaving the section box blank.

5. Search results will display in the window.  Scroll down as necessary to view all search results.

Action Field Key:

E = Expired

T = Terminated

R = Relinquished

C = Canceled

O = Operating

Results can be exported to a CSV file or can be viewed in the attribute table by choosing those options from the results menu.

6. To perform a new search, click on the search tab at the top of the window.

7. To switch from one search to another, click the back arrow to return to the search  selection screen.

Using the Attribute Table:

1.   Open the Land and Lease Map Viewer and agree to the terms and conditions by clicking the checkbox and clicking OK.

2. Click on the Attribute Table button at the bottom of the map to open the attribute table.

3. To resize the attribute table, click and drag up on the line underneath the arrow.

4. Use either the rightward or downward facing arrow on the right-hand side of the attribute table tab bar to navigate to the Surface Online Plat Book tab or Subsurface Online Plat Book tab.

5. Click on the Option button on the attribute table toolbar to open the options menu.

6. From the option menu, click on Filter.

7. Once the Filter window opens, click Add Expression.  Choose Township (String) from the first dropdown.  Leave the second dropdown as is.  In the textbox, type in the township you want to search for.

8. Repeat the step above to add filter criteria for range and section, if desired.

Click Add Expression and choose Range (String) from the first dropdown.  Leave the second dropdown as is.  In the textbox, type in the range you want to search for.

Click Add Expression and choose Section (String) from the first dropdown.  Leave the second dropdown as is.  In the textbox, type in the section you want to search for.

Click OK to perform the filter once you have you desired criteria set.

*If no results are displayed when searching by section township and range, the land may have been resurveyed.  Try searching again with only township and range expressions.

9. Filter results will display in the attribute table.  Scroll down as necessary to view all filter results.

Action Field Key:

E = Expired

T = Terminated

R = Relinquished

C = Canceled

O = Operating

Results can be exported to a CSV file by clicking on the Options menu and selecting Export all to CSV.

Data can be download from the Land and Lease Map Viewer by using the Download Data tool which can be found on the toolbar in the upper right-hand corner of the map.

The data sets available for download are produced and maintained by the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments (OSLI) and are provided as is.
